Job Title: Research & Development Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research & Development Engineer specializing in microfabrication to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a Master's or Ph.D. degree in microengineering or mechanical engineering (or relevant fields) and a strong background in prototyping, 3D design, and mechanical characterization of microdevices.  


Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the prototyping efforts for innovative medical devices, utilizing advanced techniques and 3D design software to rapidly iterate and refine product designs. 
  • Conduct thorough mechanical testing and analysis of product using state-of-the-art testing equipment and methodologies. 
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of project objectives and prioritize product prototyping and mechanical testing efforts. 
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in microfabrication, and integrate findings into the development of new prototyping and testing methodologies. 
  • Document and communicate research findings effectively through reports, presentations, and technical documentation. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in relevant field, e.g., Microengineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Biomedical Engineering. 
  • Proven expertise in prototyping and 3D design of medical devices (wearable), with proficiency in relevant software/tools, e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc. 
  • Extensive experience in conducting mechanical testing of microdevices. 
  • Strong background in microfabrication techniques and cleanroom processes. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team. 
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly and concisely. 

 

Preferred starting date: ASAP 


A valid Swiss work permit or Swiss or EU-28/EFTA citizenship is preferable (but not mandatory) for this position.
